Beginners' Questions The old familiar features

    Hi all,

I'm trying out Inkscape 1.2-beta (1b65182ce9, 2022-04-05)(Windows 10)Β and it's quite the change from what I'm used to in 1.0.

Specifically there are 3 things that I can't figure out how to change back to my familiar way of working, that I'm hoping there are quick fixes for.

    * The snap toolbar now seems to be a 2 item menu that brings up a popup with all the options. Is there a way to have it be a toolbar where all the options are always visible?
    * The text spacing toolbar seems to have permanently moved the text shifting options into a pulldown called "Spacing". Is there any way to keep the pulldown open by default, or restore them to where all the options are always shown inline with everything else?
    * When I drag guides from the rulers, it keeps auto-rotating them to be normal to lines they snap to. Is there a way to have them stop auto-rotating?

    Thanks!

I only tested the beta superficially (and overall really like it especially the performance enhancements) but the change of the snapping toolbar to a drop-down menu (and some other items as well) is hampering my workflow which for some (crowded) figures requires frequent changes in the snapping settings. I have an 38"Β 3880Γ—1600px screen, so while these changes might be beneficial for users on laptops and tablets, I don't understand why they are not optional, please just provide an options in the interface settings to switch snapping back to a tool bar.

please just provide an options in the interface settings to switch snapping back to a tool bar.

I support this, and other new UI features having optional modes like the previous.
