    Hello people..

I'm totally new to inkscape and my question will be really basic..

I started making a logo, and I used the "line" tool on the menu..(circled in orange in the picture attachment)

I'm happy with the result, except that I would like to have thicker lines, and I don't know how to do it..

Maybe the "line" (Bezier curve and straight lines) tool was not what I shouold have used.. Don't know..

SO my question is double :

How can I make those lines thicker ?

If I cannot, then what tool shiould I used to make the drawing again so that I couold chose the thickness of lines ?

    Thanx in advance..

    and have a nice day..

    Thierry

A line in vector is a path that is straight.  Paths have no inherent thickness.  They are infinitely thin.  That is they are a straight path between two one dimensional points, (nodes.)  A path can have a stroke which can have thickness and color.  Change the stroke on your paths to have thickness and color.  Note that strokes are not part of the path.  A stroke is like a skin the path wears.  If you want the stroke to be a path so you can manipulate it as a path, after you assign it a thickness and color do the operation "Stroke to Path."

The fill and stroke dialog is the tool for this.  There are some a few other ways such as the pallet bar.  Also, the circled tool is the bezier pen tool.  It makes paths not lines.  The only reason you see lines is it has a default stroke value.

So, how do I change myu path ? how do I give it a stroke ? I searche the interface, but didn't find anything..

The SVG file turns out to be blank when I open it in the browser

Open the Fill and Stroke dialog to change your stroke values.  It is under the Object menu.  Keyboard shortcut is Shift + Ctrl + F.  The bezier tool is fine for making lines.  It can make curves too however.  It is a critical tool to learn.

OK.. Thanx a lot @phiscribe.. Fact that thickness was expressed inb percentage.. SO of course I had no result.. Now I have turned it into mm and it works.. Thanx a lot..

@AyushiD I didn't upload any svg file.. are you sure you wanted to write on this thread ? There might be an error..
