Sometimes you import a PDF and the text is malformed. It might be scattered vertically or horizontally. This tool tries to fix it and returns a screen of text you can copy to the clipboard. I needs your input on what is up and down. The pop message probably should be fixed to say something like here are your results.
It's just I tried to create a simple line of text then split it based on words, then modified the words position vertically and horizontally then apply merge to create new one text from those scattered words, but those Vertical and Horizontal points settings do not make any change to the final merged text, what I understand from reading the .py file of the extension is that they create sort of anchors to compare to, but in my test it does they don't make any change at all like if they don't exist.
You need a malformed file of text to test with, were the words are jumbled either or both horizontally and vertically. It's not going to do much to well formed text.
What is the functions of Horizontal and Vertical points in Merge Text and Extract Text extensions ?
They don't seem to make a difference here. 😕
