Beginners' Questions Greater fill color selection

I have been using Inkscape for a year and find it very convenient and so much easier to use than the other drawing programs. My only wish would be for a greater selection of fill colors. It is not just the number of hues, for example of red, I have found problematic. I have mined the full spectrum. But the most difficult for me has been the limited range in the very light colors and their lack of true-ness... for example the lightest value of yellow looks pink etc. Can anyone help with advice here ?

    Kindest regards

    Hi, Caroline.

Suggestion: when you click on an object and open the Fill and Stroke option, choose the HSL tab. From there, you can change the Hue, Saturation and Lightness values, independently.

You can also create 2 distinct rectangles, conert them to paths, and choose a different color for each, and spsce them far apart.

Next, select hoth and use the Interpolate Extension, with the Style option included, and create any bumer of color transitions between the stsrting and ending rectangles. Just enter a higher or lower amount of steps.

You can use these with the dropper tool to select a specific color calue for your future objects.

In a similar way, create a gradient on an object, with 2 or more stops. Assign different colors to the stops. When satisfied with the result, enlarge the gradient filled object. And then use the dropper tool to select a specific color for your future objects.

All the Lord's best to you.
