    Hi @kayleejjohnson,

    Depends on what you want to do.

    Inkscape is for vector designs : architecture, logo design, illustrations, diagrams, schema...
    To stay in OSS sphere, if you want to work on 3D stuffs : Blender
    Hand draw, painting : Krita
    Photo manipulation : Gimp
    Etc.
