Beyond the Basics Weird effect rendition when exporting the file in PDF, JPG, etc.

Hi everybody. Not sure I can call this a bug, anyway I have problems with file export. I tried PNG, JPG and PDF, and I get bad results. I'm using version 1.3.

I suppose Inkscape have difficulties with the effect I applied on some object. However, sadly I can't use the resulting files.

Here you can find the original SVG (no problems for sharing, no copyrighted material or so): Scheda PG Cani senza Onore

I suppose you can try to reproduce the problem. Anyway, I attach some print screen of how I see the file in Inkscape, and what I obtain after various export test.

    Hello

I guess it comes from opacity and blend modes.

I would be interested to understand why this occurs for jpeg export on wave pattern and not on characters.

You could also redraw the japanese patterns with inkscape for better results (you can then choose exactly the color, without adjusting opacity of object) and instead of using clipped bitmaps apply the pattern to the path you use for clipping. Here is a file where I save my japanese patterns. Some are ressembling yours.

With insckape 1.3 you can modify the (ugly ?) green color directly, or dig into xml editor for previous versions.

PS : it's very nice, congratulations

Ohi David, thanks for the patterns. Indeed, it's a function I rarely rely on, while I know that in 1.3 they improved it a lot.
Also, while useful for some occasion, for other ones (ie. the ruined wall that I used for the girl silhouette) I can't take advantage of.
I really hope someone can dig into the "problem" and find a solution (or explain it as a bug...).

I love to mix bitmap with vectors for weird impacting images, something like real-life-collages.

I attach another file (this one has no problems, mainly because I used effects on whole levels, when possibile), just as another example of my working for a (hypothetical) tabletop game.

    Have a great day!
