I would like to request an adjustment to the alignment system. I would like to have Inkscape default to align to page if I only have one object/group selected and then when i select multiple items I can have it set to default to one of the multiple settings already there (LAST SELECTED, FIRST SELECTED, BIGGEST OBJECT, SMALLEST OBJECT, PAGE, DRAWING, SELECTION AREA)

Information on feature requests is here: https://inkscape.org/forums/beyond/how-to-report-bugs-or-request-new-features/

I thought the "related to" selector at the top of the alignment panel did this.  It does it in I93.  Did they change it in 1+?

yeah you can change it. but you have to change it every time. but if i have several items selected it should default to align to the first selected automatically(i suppose you can make the argument for the last selected similar to coreldraw). if i have a single item selected it should default to whatever you want in that selector(for me i would chose page). i'm not saying it's a make or break request, it's just a request that seems like it would be helpful. obviously this is my request, you might not find it helpful, but as i see it it would leave the current functionality effectively as is, it would just add functionality. but maybe i didn't make this request correctly? i don't know what tyler durden is trying to tell me. i came this this forum through that page he is linking to. i don't know what else i'm supposed to do. i don't know how else to explain it.

I think the feature would make sense and be helpful.

To request a feature, you can make an account on GitLab and explain to the developers what the new feature entails.

i'll be honest i can not find anything that remotely looks like a suggestion/requests section.

I use the issue report and preface the title with "Feature Request".
