OK - you set up a nice grid to aid in your designs. However - you discover size issues in your final design. Not refering to scaling issues. That is a totally different issue.

Use the XML editor and examine the XML grid definitions.
If you see the following, then this just might be the cause:
That is supposed to be a 8x8 mm grid!
Easy to fix - just enter the correct spacing using the XML editor.
To prevent future heartburn, design failures, or Apocalypse Now scenarios; I suggest inspecting this everytime you create a new grid. If you use the same type of grid in all your designs - create a template.
If you have already created a design with a bad grid spacing, I have no easy fix.
