    Hi everyone, I'm new here.

I've used for quite some time the Inkscape application on Windows. When I used to save one of my drawings, automatically it did not save the entire document page as an SVG including the white contours, butΒ the drawing's edges only, which was so useful.

Now I've recently switched to macOS and this automatic behavior doesn't happen. I managed to go to File -> Document Properties... -> Resize to content, but this: 1) is a "manual" operation 2) it doesn't work properly, some whitespaces are left and I don't know why. Someone can help?

    Hi,

The Export dialog has four export options, check if yours is set to "page" instead of "document".

Great, it worked. Setting "document" does the job. How can I make it behave this way by default?
Even if, I don't know why, when I uploaded my previous SVGs in a LaTeX document, for instance, the image was like already "cropped" to its borders without bringing in the document the big whitespaces.

Anyway the export document solution makes me feel better because I don't see whitespaces even when I open the SVG with Inkscape.
