I attach a screen grab of one corner of a rectangle. I've snapped guide lines to the outer corner and to the inner corner. Why is the measured pixels exactly 50% of the stroke width in the stroke width setting?
Yup, I'll take the latter.... I should have figured that. Yes, the fill was/is at the front. I was definitely not thinking straight. Thanks Tyler....as usual, to the rescue.

Could be the paint order has the fill in front of the stroke. Refer to the six buttons in the Fill & Stroke dialog.
