Beginners' Questions How to Cut/Split a complex Path Segment and Remove It?

    Hi everyone,

I need help figuring out how to cut or split a specific part of a path. I've attached a screenshot to illustrate what I'm trying to achieve.

    In the screenshot:

    • The red dashed line shows where I want to make the cut in the path.
    • The green lines represent where I expect new nodes to form after the cut.
    • The segment between these new nodes (currently black) should be removed entirely, leaving the white background visible.

How would I go about archieving this? Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!

    Best,
    Tobi

Eraser also fasten this job of creating a shape and make a boolean difference :

    • Leave the shape to modify selected (node tool also allows to select paths).
    • Select eraser (shift + E), and check if Cut out from paths and shapes mode is selected (second icon).
    • Optionnaly set the Width (notice that for a given width, the effective width erased varies along the zoom level)
    • Once done, switch to node tool (n) to perfect the job, as suggested by Polygon.

The idea is to quickly navigate between shift+E and n
