I have been pouring through the preferences and I just cannot seem to find the option to disable Shift-Middle Button-Drag zoom? Its called "Zoom into the area" in the docs
If I understood correctly, maybe:Preferences/ Behavior/Steps -> Zoom with middle mouse click
No thats something else. If you hold shift & middle mouse & drag you get a zoom box that then zooms your view in.This is referred to in the docs as "Zoom into the area".
I would like to disable this.
I think it's currently hardcoded.
I'd put in a feature request. https://inkscape.org/forums/beyond/how-to-report-bugs-or-request-new-features/
