Hello all! I am a new user to Inkscape, and still getting used to all the features.
One thing I was attempting to do is change the way text is aligned in relation to a starting point. What I mean by this is, when using the "Create and edit text objects" tool, clicking on the canvas allows you to enter text. By default, the text appears above a horizontal line based on that starting point. Is it possible to have the text appear below this horizontal line instead?
As an example in the screenshot I attached, the text generates to the upper right of the little white square box, which is where I clicked on the canvas. I was able to figure out how to switch it so that it appears to the upper left, by changing the text direction; is there a way to get it to appear on the lower left or right of that box?
I am asking because I am trying to align a piece of text below a horizontal path. I was able to find manual workarounds, such as drawing a text box, using the Align/Distribute menu, or simply dragging the text into place, but I was wondering if there was a quicker/more accurate shortcut I could use.

Thank you for your assistance!
Studel can you expand more in your question by giving examples shots of what your manual end piece looked like a before and after?
