On the Windows, I experience two behavior to keyboard shortcuts that I want to figure is an easy workaround or possible bug.
When Caps Lock is active, the Delete key doesn't have any effect when an object are selected. I can delete an object if right-click and choose Delete from that menu.
When in Text editor (editing text objects), I'd expect being able to hit Escape twice, then the Select tool is activated. However, Inkscape for Windows seems to only react at the first key click on the Esc button and omitting the second click. Therefore I have to click S-button in order to "get out" to select tool.
Both of the above points are not observed in Linux.
Caps Lock interferes with several keyboard shortcuts on Windows and Mac. (I have no Linux experience.) This has been reported a few times in the forums and in the bug tracker. The text tool behaviour is another manifestation of the Caps Lock bug. The second [Escape] returns you to the select tool, as you would expect, when Caps Lock is off.
Hi.
For the current version of Inkscape 1.1

Anyone else observed this?
Yes to both!

Ok, I think this must be the bug:
