I installed have a mac running Mojave and I upgraded from inkscape 92 to 1.00 then 1.1.0 all was fine until a few days ago when inkscape suddenly opens an svg import dialogue if I try to use ANY tool from the tool box on the left. so far the total it's opened at any one time is 18 - I then have to try closing them before I can do anything, often with it then opening more as I close them
its made inkscape unusable on my system which is a bugger as I use it for making files for my digital cutters.

You can also try to reset the Preferences.xml via Preferences->System->Reset Preferences and see if this will help already - but I would try to reinstall Inkscape1.1 after a complete uninstall with AppCleaner.app.
