I have been using Inlkscape for almost half a year, but am certainly no expert on it. I have been creating images extensively using layers and sub layers. I was working on a file and accidentally clicked on something, and all of my sub layers suddenly disappeared. Only my basic layers will remain.ย
As an example, I drew a building under the layer "Building," but all of the pieces making the building up were each grouped into their own sub layers. I can select the whole "Building" layer as well as individual sub layer objects, but I cannot view those individual objects in the layers and objects toolbar.
At some point when I've used Inkscape before, I know that I accidentally found how to switch the layers and objects toolbar between a simple view of basic layers, and a view of the basic layers along with sub layers. I can't remember or figured out how I did that. I've also done many searches but have found nothing to restore a view of all the layers and sub layers.
Hello,

Maybe click the button that I've labeled as "view only layers"?
Thank you; that was it!
I got confused because theย "view on layers" button looks like a minus sign, especially being next to a plus sign.
