I downloaded the beta version as .7z file and extracted the files. Then I found the inkscape.exe file and double clicked on it. Inkscape opened just fine. However, I don't think it was INSTALLED as a program because it is not listed as an installed program on my computer. Basically, extract was done, but SETUP did not happen. Any explanation or solution would be appreciated.
If you want a shortcut osmewqhere, you can just create it manually. Same goes for associating the SVG file extension with Inkscape.
If you want to "uninstall" the beta, just delete the extracted folder (and optionally your user settings in the profile directory, i.e. "%appdata%/inkscape").
Yes, it is installed differently since it's not a stable version. I did what patrick suggested and created a shortcut. I think i just pulled the exe file onto the desktop...

Inkscape does not need to be installed.

Mostly because I was too lazy to create an installer for it. 😅
A release candidate for Inkscape 1.0 will be released soon, though, which is when I'll also provide .exe and .msi installers for Windows.
