For this poster I got inspired by Paula Scher.
I used for it a photograph of The Katlehong Footlockers (RSA) by photographer Matthias Luggen: https://www.flickr.com/photos/buskersbern/43928172612
Further, I just "played around" with only two fonts: Nexa Rust Slab and variations of the Franklin Gothic family.
If you need more information about this work, feel free to ask me.
Funny fact: If you google "615 WHITE SULPHUR RD., GAINESVILLE GA", it will lead you to The New Haven Congregational Holiness Church. It's a puritan church in one of the most conservative, white dominant communities of the U.S. -great place for such a party, huh?😁

    🤘*

Bit map tracing of a low resolution stock image, lots of interpolating, extruding paths in perpective, some clipping and ofcourse searching and thinking of a made up character.
-The Marquee doesn't exist any longer. Dandelion Records was founded by John Peel and was defunkt in 1972.
I include a detailed image from the letters. There was long hours of working to get the interpolated lines look good and "natural" in perspective as I kept changing the thickness of those.

For this one, first, I duplicated a picture of Monaco. I then clipped the upper image using the word "Monaco" and applied a blur effect to the other one using the blur controls.
Next, I generated a halftone image from a photo of an F1 racing car. I achieved this by shaping it from the tiled clones of a tiny square.
Finally, I added the logo used for car plates in Monaco. Here is a clip demonstrating how the tiles were created: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9dSAzKWAK8

    Very nice @Inktonic !

If you have time, could you add links to the 3rd party graphics.

My favorite part is the Monaco lettering and the surrounding blur... It looks very smooth!

@pacer You're absolutely right about the third party images. Thanks for reminding me!
Yes, the blur on Inkscape 1.3 with the controls is really great! I love it!

Third party images that I've used for the "monaco" poster:
    -Monaco: https://pixabay.com/photos/monaco-city-port-yachts-building-4564079/

Inspired by Punk Rock (hey, I grew up with The Clash, The Pistols,...), the Obama Hope Poster (Shepard Fairey) and Andy Warhol,
I came up with this work here. So, please, forgive me for "the finger"!😇
I used two images to compose it:
    -The lady: https://www.pexels.com/photo/woman-wearing-chain-necklaces-and-a-choker-10179787/
    -"The finger": https://www.pexels.com/photo/hand-of-woman-with-pink-manicure-showing-her-middle-finger-up-gesture-4379966/
No same shade of colour was used twice. I include two versions.

Here's a final one. A chunk of 80's and a large slice of 90's-00's with the flavour of contemporary "NU RETRO".
    -The cool guy: https://www.pexels.com/photo/man-looking-up-in-black-leather-jacket-wearing-sunglasses-8718341/
    1.Removed background.
2.Applied two color filters (Quadritone Fantasy & Nudge CMY).
3.Traced the image to get his silhouette, so I could clip the part of his head infront of the light-trail.
-The light-trail: Stroke and then applied LPE Power Stroke to get the desired shape and flow. I made 4-5 copies of it of slightlty different width and shade of color.
    -Pattern: Triangles 3

Hello everyone, I haven't been around here for quite some time. Hope everyone is well!

I saw this challenge at the beginning of the month and wanted to enter, but time got away from me and I've only just managed to sneak in at the end.

I like making maps, and thought I could make a travel poster incorporating a map. The map part was easy but it was looking awfully bare towards the top right. So, in a fit of utter madness, I decided to add a train. I know next to nothing about steam trains, and this type of drawing is waaay out of my comfort zone, but I gave it my best shot...! 😱 It was a fun image to work on, and it's nice to post here again.

There are some wonderful entries this month! I especially like @Inkonic 's 'Stop & Listen' poster, and the Bauhaus image by @mrks9. Great work, folks!

Here it is recreated in Inkscape.

It's based on a bit of advice i got from a person who worked where the additive was discovered.
