Just upgrade to Inkscape 1.0, but i cant open or save files on network drives from inkscape, the open/save dialog boxes does not show network drives. Im using Ubuntu Budgie 20, ataching pictures of the default file manager that shows the network and the open dialog box from inkscape. I can open anyfile using the file manager that will open the file with inkscape and will save it.. but cant do it from inside the program.
Hi, yes i used snap... im kind on a newbie regarding tech stuff, should i uninstall and use another package.. (ubuntu repositories dont not have *deb package last time i saw)
Snap packages are a rather new format and still evolving, so there's hope they'll become more useful over time, but in general you're better off with "normal" non-containerized versions of software (if you know what you're doing).
Just wanted to tadd that it solved the problem for me, too. Installing Inkscape from the SOftware repository seems to cause the problem with the network drives.

How did you install Inkscape? There are some known limitations with containerized formats (like snap or appimage).

I'm no expert (Windows user myself and only sporadically on Linux), but I think the appimage (installation instruction on the website) is worth a try.
Other than that we offer a ppa if you now how to set that up.
Thank you, i will do that, and let you know if it works... thanks for the advice.
installing from the PPA worked.. problem fixed, thanks again for the asistance. So not using snap packages from now on.
Great good to know!
