I have a bitmap pattern of paint brush strokes. I want to use it as a pattern fill on various objects, and then set each objects color so that they look painted in different colors. Is that possible?
I have been able to use SVG filters to make the brushed painted look, but that can only be vertical or horizontal (based on the X and Y frequency of the turbulence). I need to be able to rotate the pattern arbitrarily.
I created the bitmap in GIMP, so I could create one for each color I need, but it would much easier to color it in Inkscape.
That works! Thank you! I had to adjust the Harsh Light and Normal Light until I could see the pattern through the texture, but it's just what I needed!
Now to apply a Roughen filter only to the edges of the shape...

Any idea?
I´d try Filters->Color->Colorize.
